A Lake Minnewaska 4th of July

We stayed within one half mile of the lake today.  Things were quiet on our morning walk along South Lakeshore Drive.

Two hammocks beneath the whispering cottonwood trees are ready for the family to arrive.

But the early bird caught a bass from the dock.

Chairs were set out everywhere.  The geese set up camp early.

Three youngsters spent the night outside.  Note the feet hanging out.

Around noon we took the pontoon across the lake to Bottle Bay and joined our neighbors Mark and Sherry in the shallows.  We weren't alone.   There were over 100 boats with lots of folks relaxing in floats.

Our community had a cart parade early in the evening.

After a busy day there was one must activity.  Can't miss the sunset.  It was unusually orange.

We are now watching the fireworks over Lake Minnewaska to our west as I wrap up this post.  A glance to the east and the full moon is coming into focus.  Neat.

Happy 4th everyone!
