The Cabin, a Look Inside

There are 12 cabins nestled into our park-like setting.  This is us.

and here are some of our neighbors.

We are comfortable in our place closest to the water.  Nice views.  The 3-season porch is where we spend a great deal of our time.

Here is a look inside.

Most of our neighbors are just here for weekends.  Thus, it is a really quiet setting.

Walk along Lake Shore Drive

It is a two mile walk down to Peter's Resort on Lake Minnewaska.  Lakeshore Drive makes for a nice morning walk.  Cabins, houses, big houses, cottonwood trees, and bird life and the lake views make for a scenic walk.  Here is a peek into our walk.

Our Walk Destination

Big cottonwood trees line the shore of Lake Minnewaska

And an occasional birch tree

There are cabins, houses, and BIG houses

Cabins which are also year round homes

and BIG homes.

But the fun is seeing sights like this baby goose.  And, you betcha, some families still fly the Norwegian flag.

So, as we enjoy Lakeshore Drive today,

We remember our past family trips to Peter's Resort

Memories:

The grand kids are taking golf lessons this summer.  Soon they will be better golfers than Grandpa and Grandma.

Fishing Trip of May 27

Tom brought his boat over and we went after Northern Pike in a smaller lake nearby.  Lake Johanna is a typical lake for this area.  Fun to fish with abundant ducks, birds, and a few fish.  Here are some pics to give you a feel for a regional lake.

A big "Thank You" to Tom for a memorable day on the water.  It means a lot for this Minnesota kid to get back on the water.

We had a fish fry with the girls back at our place.

Minnesota is known for the Common Loon which is the state bird.  Here is a baby Loon going for a ride.  The babies are hatched now.
